Home of the 2010 Olympic Village
The South East False Creek development is located along the southeast shores of False Creek. To the west is the original False Creek neighbourhood (also known as False Creek South), to the south and east is Mount Pleasant West and Mount Pleasant East. It is bordered to the west by the Cambie Street Bridge and Spyglass Place, by West and East 2nd Avenue to the south and Main Street to the east.
The homes in Southeast False Creek are all condominiums, both apartment-style and townhouse-style. The first units were completed in 2008 and its largest development, Millennium Water, will be the Olympic or Athletes Village during the 2010 Winter Olympics. As directed by the City of Vancouver all developments in South East False Creek are built to a minimum of the LEED Silver environmental standard.
Amenities in Southeast False Creek will eventually include parks, a community centre, shops, restaurants, and possibly an elementary school in the future. The neighbourhood is also served by the Canadian Tire, Best Buy, Save-on Foods and Winners-Homesense on Cambie Street between West 6th and 8th Avenue. The Seawall has been extended through South East False Creek and this may the most stunning section of the e
ntire seawall system.
Transportation options in Southeast False Creek are amongst the best in the city with the Olympic Village Canada Line Station allowing quick access to Downtown Vancouver as well as south to the Oakridge Shopping Centre, Langara College, Richmond Town Centre, and Vancouver International Airport (YVR). There is also express bus service along W.2nd Ave serving Vancouver Community College (VCC) to the east and the Kitsilano, Point Grey and the University of British Columbia (UBC) to the west. There are future plans for a street level street car line along West 1st Ave.
We love this area so much we have created whole new website just for Southeast False Creek real estate and Olympic Village condos.
