Unusual Bird Spotted in False Creek
Have you been this bird?

I am no bird guy. When I first saw this bird I thought it was the weird love child of the Canada geese it was hanging out with, and a crazy Granville Island seagull, but a neighbour suggested that it is actually a snow goose. How dull!
It does seem to be a bit off course though which might explain why it has been hanging out on the same area of grass along the seawall (just east of the first entrance to Granville Island) every time I've walked by in the past few weeks. According to the snow goose websites I have found it looks like in the winter snow geese are generally no further north than Oregon and most winter in the southern U.S. They do breed in Northern Canada in the summer, but this one has only been here for a short time. I feel kind of bad for the thing. I'll have to look into who deals with off-course birds.
