Save-on-Foods to Open This Weekend at 7th and Cambie

Save on Food and Home Depot under construction CROP

I love False Creek and we are pretty well served for our grocery shopping needs here by the Public Market at Granville Island. One thing I have always felt was missing though was a good grocery store within walking distance. Since living here in the creek for the past 6+ years we, like so many False Creek residents, have been making a weekly trip by car to the Safeway on W. 4th Ave, or some other Vancouver grocery store. Lately Costco downtown has been a favourite for our growing family. With Save-on now opening in the neighbourhood (almost) we can walk on over to complete our grocery shopping needs.

In the months and years to come we will be further served by Whole Foods at Cambie and Broadway and by Urban Fare in South East False Creek. A grocery shopping mecca is born...

Well, we checked it out (like many others on Saturday and Sunday!) So many new services in that neighbourhood!  Home Depot, Winners & HomeSense to open soon.  Add those to the new grocery stores, pharmacies, the long established liquor store, and it's turning into a very viable neighbourhood with all the services you would need!  Once the new skytrain lines are done, even those of us in Yaletown will just be one quick stop away from all those services.  I'm looking forward to shopping over there even more now.

Jackie, I think the Save-on really is a great addition to the Fairview, False Creek and west Mount Pleasant areas. I am excited about the Winners too. I had forgotten about that.
