New Home Depot At Cambie and 8th Is Now Open

I am bit late on this, but apparently the store opened Thursday. No flier, no postcard, but there is big giant billboard on West 6th just west of Moberly. I guess I hadn't come that way in a while. I was expecting a bit more of a marketing blitz on it to be honest.

I don't entirely understand the need for this new Home Depot on Cambie. It is only another 5 minutes to one on Terminal. It does create a nice little reno-centre area there at the north end of Cambie with the Canadian Tire, Robinson's Lighting and soon Homesense for your post reno decorating. I guess the retail geniuses behind the millions they've spent on the store must have some idea what they're doing.
