False Creek, What to do Today - The Rio Tinto Alcan Dragon Boat Festival
I just didn't get to this during the week and whether I really have time for it now is debatable, but this is one of the biggest events of the year around the creek so I have to get it out there. The Rio Tinto Alcan Canadian Dragon Boat Festival is on right now, and tomorrow too down at the east end of the Creek and just north of Science World. This is the 20th year for the event now sporting it's new longer, Alcan-bought-out name and there is always a lot of fun free entertainment down there. Heck, just watching the people is great entertainment. There is live music, there are children's activities, a cooking stage, and great food too. Tonight there will even be a free concert by Vancouver band The Trews.
Interested in what happens at the festival check out their photo galleries. Are you heading down, are you paddling? I'd love to hear your comments about the festival below.
