False Creek Has a New Pizzeria
Ever since the great thin crust pizza place behind the Starbucks (was it Amadeus?) closed some time ago False Creek has been without it's own pizzeria. Well, I recently noticed that a new place has opened up in the same location.
The place is called Olie's [1833 Anderson, 604-733-0888] and I dropped by the other day on the way home from work, and mighty hungry to boot. I grabbed a slice of the barbecued chicken pizza and it was really good. It was not not too saucy, nor was the sauce overly sweet, and crust was perfectly thin. The menu [pdf] has some interesting sounding pizzas (see the Patata & Bacon) and I look forward to trying to Chorizo and Spinach pizza. We had recently taken to ordering from Firewood Pizza on Cambie St, but I would prefer to support a neighourhood place. The prices are on the higher side, but these look like some nice pizzas. They do calzones, salads, also have some Mario's Gelati.
Have you tried Olie's Pizzeria? What did you think?
