New Development in Vancouver: Jacobsen

Today was the REALTOR preview for the Jacobsen project that is going to be built on E. 2nd Ave just east of Main St. The real estate community was out in full force which either means that the developement is going to be a big hit or there was an open bar and free food. Well, there was an open bar and an espresso stand AND free food. You'd not get as big a crowd to give away free ....well you know ..... down the road at Main and Hastings.

Anyway, these are long and skinny condos in the modern loft style. Shiny white cabinets and Boosch appliances. Bedroom are inset in to the unit and open with large sliding panels (doors) to allow in light (in most of the one bedroom plans the bedroom had now window of its own. One thing that is new here is that there are some 3 bedroom plans available. As well some suites have huge outdoor space and those facing E 2nd and its street noise have nice views to the north shore mountains and the downtown skyline. Prices range from $229,000 + for studios, $275,000+ for one bedrooms, $377,000+ for one and dens, $529,000+ for two bedrooms and 2 and dens, and $685,000+ for the penthouses. All prices are non-negoitiable and exclusive of GST.

If you'd like to be pre-registered for this development or would like more infomation just contact me (see left side) and leave me your name and contact info.

UPDATE (October 29, 2007) - According to the email they just sent me units are still available at the Jacobsen and they are offering special promotion:

And now, for a limited time, your clients can purchase a home through our mortgage payment buydown promotion with payments from $1,233 / month*, including CMHC fees and the GST. Our pre-construction pricing starts from as low as $391,900 for a one bedroom plus den.

I am sure the prices are attractive when comparared to the Millenium Water prices just a couple of blocks away. Let me know if you need more info.
