Things to do in Vancouver: Kerrisdale Days and Kerrisdale Idol

Kerrisdale Days posterKerrisdale Days, which celebrates Kerrisdale's birthday, starts today in Kerrisdale and runs through Saturday. There will be sidewalk sales for the adults, entertainment for kids of all ages as well as some that is just for the kids.

The popular and free AAA Horse & Carriage rides will be on tap along with bands, face painters, clowns, the Merry-Go-Swing and jugglers roving throughout Kerrisdale Village. Drop by south Yew Street and West 41st Avenue for a ride down Provident Security’s Giant Slide located beside the Community policing Booth and London Drug’s Child Safe ID Program. New this year to the same area will be Papa JohKerrisdale Idoln’s Pizza by the slice stand!

And if it’s balloons your after they will be given away free at Hill’s, Provident Security, Papa John’s Pizza, BCAA, RBC, Kerrisdale Cruise Ship Centre, CIBC, TC Canada Trust and Purdy’s.

Keeping with a longstanding tradition, free birthday cake will be sliced and diced Saturday afternoon at 3 pm at N. Yew Street and West 41st. Make plans to spend the afternoon in Kerrisdale where there is something for everyone!

The show piece of the weekend will the 3rd annual Kerridale Idol competition. Interested participants should arrive early for the 8:30am sign-in on Saturday morning.
