Friday Fun Is Back: Hats, Paris, and Being Charitable in Vancouver
Its seems when the weather is truly atrocious I don't feel like writing Fun on Fridays. That seems to occurring about every other week this fall. But today is nice enough and I was down on the (Granville) Island with the baby and I came across few fun things. I had a little Masala Chai at the Granville Isand Tea Co. and picked up a card for Curds and Whey: The Granville Island Cheese Festival which is on this weekend. Anyway, Jr. and I then headed outside to chase pidgeons and seagulls (beware of the Seagulls). I took a few pics with my phone, but I haven't got them into the computer yet, check back soon.
Then we stopped in at the Net Loft and dropped into Edie Hats where I like to try on, but never buy, Edie's great hats. As it turns out Edie is an internet marketing guru and we had a great little chat about blogs, facebook (warning Edie Hat's Facebook page is huge and keeps freezing my browser), flickr, myspace etc.
They are hosting a great sounding event called Paris Day on December 1st, but it doesn't seem to be on the events page of their website yet.
Also in the Net Loft we stopped into Blackberry Books and I picked up a copy of the newly published book by an old colleague of mine, Duane Lawrence. The book is called Sammy Squirrel and Ricky Racoon: A Stanley Park Tale (aaaarhg! I can't remember the animal's names and I don't have the book with me! I'll fix it later) and is only available at Blackberry right now, but should be available soon at Duthies. The book looks like a great little read for 8-10 year olds.
So that is the fun for this Friday! Pretty pictures to be added later. Have great one and cheer on those Canucks. I am going to the game tonight, and I haven't been to 'nucks game in 10 -15 years I figure, so I hoping for good performance.

UPDATE (Monday, November 19, 2007): I forgot to be charitable. How terrible of me. Anyway I've written about the charitable events I was planning to write about on Friday today. Take a look.
UPDATE (November, 22, 2007) - Paris Day is now on the web on the Edie Hats website, and on Facebook.
