Fun on Friday in Vancouver: 24 Hours of Skiing and Safer Parking Lots in Vancouver
I am running out of time to get this out on Friday so I will keep it short.
Grouse Mountain will be open for 24 hours straight this weekend to celebrate just two years until the start of the Olympics. Here is what you can expect in the middle of the night on Grouse Mountain (straight from their website):
Skiing
Snowboarding
Ice skating
Midnight and sunrise snowshoe tours (depart Chalet at 11:30pm and 6:30am)
Theatre in the Sky’s ‘marathon of winter action sports’ films
24 hour food and beverage specials
DJ spinning tunes all night long
I won't be there, but tell me how it goes...
I also heard on CBC radio today about a new program that will give "Safer Parking" (oooh, clever name!!!!) awards to downtown parking garages that they "have made a special effort to prevent auto break-ins."(CBC). So far five lots have been awarded the "Safer Parking" designation and they will display special signage indicating their award. Unfortunelty, the story does not say which five lots have "Safer Parking".
Don't forget about the Chinese New Year Parade in Chinatown on Sunday.
Thats all I got right now. Have a great one!
