Canadian Real Estate Report in the Vancouver Sun Today

In the "this is just a giant real estate ad" House Hunting section of the Vancovuer Sun today was an article (Title: Camp Report Released: Canadians have a balanced view of the real estate market) about a report that has been released by CAAMP, which is apparently the Canadian Association of Accredited Mortgage Professionals. The report, entitled Housing and Mortgage Market Trends in Canada, was actually reported on by the Globe and Mail last week (when it was released) in an article titled "Homes market flooded by sellers". I guess the Sun wanted to wait a week to bring us the news. Anyway, I missed it too.

Moving dayOverall it paints a familear picture of where the market is at the moment (fairly balanced in most areas) but it also touched on Canadians awareness of the real estate market, the U.S. real estate situation, and mortgage products and trends.

It found that 89% of Canadians are aware of the U.S. Housing Crisis. One third of Canadians believe now is a good time to buy real estate, 1/3 believe it is not, and the last 1/3 are neutral.

You can find the report on the CAAMP website.

And remember you are not buying Canadian real estate, or even "Your City" real estate you are buying neighbourhood real estate, and in the case of condos maybe even building specific real estate.

That statistic is so Canadian I don't even know how to describe it.
