Vancouver's Best Haunted House?
Vancouver’s Best Haunted House?
On Sunday night, at the invitation of a neighbour, my eight year old and I checked out what may be the best haunted house in
Vancouver. Located on Dunbar St. at W. 48th Ave this was one scary, and popular haunted house. We arrived just after 7pm, which is when the live, scare you out of your pants, actors start. There was already a line-up to get in, but it wasn’t too long and moved quite quickly.
Our friends had in fact been there before and their 7 year old daughter had not made it all the way through, so be warned this one is not for the littlest ones. She was hoping that having a friend along would make her brave. The house (it is actually all built around the outside of the house, I think) is made of up of a series of rooms, and each has a theme. I can’t remember what they all were, but there was Roman room, a US Civil War Room, among others. I forgot my c
amera too, so all the pics you see here were taken on my Blackberry Curve! I was pretty impressed with some of the pics I got with it, considering the poor lighting conditions.
Well our friend’s daughter was pretty freaked out again and wanted out, but we managed to get all the way around. In fact she calmed down after the first few rooms. Admission is by donation and they don’t even ask for it till you are on the way out. They are raising money for B.C. Professional Fire Firefighters’ Burn Fund, Vancouver Police Union Charitable F
oundation, and B.C. Childhood Cancer Parents Association. As we left at about ten to eight the line up was now down the block and rounding the corner, so if you are heading down to Vancouver’s best haunted house yooouuuuu’ve beeeeeeeen waaarrrrrnnnnnned.....
They are are open Sunday to Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to midnight until Nov 1st.
