That looks very interesting. Is it at the top of a lamp post? Were you guys touring Gastown this weekend?
It is some kind of torch or something and is outside the entrance to a restaurant(I think) on Alexander St. I was down there for work when I took the pic, but the the kids do enjoy the old spaghetti factory.
