Fun on Friday: The Canary Derby (it's a soap box derby)

soapbox pick coutesy of lumkness on flickr I have just not been much in a blogging frame of mind (whatever that is) lately and so there hasn't been much fun on Friday's at all. I am back in the game now and here we go.

Vancouver's first annual Canary Derby is a soap box derby that is taking place this Sunday on Water St. in Gastown. In case you missed the Red Bull Soap Box Derby the other week here is your chance at redemption. The event is subtitled: "Vancouver Tech Companies "Race to the Steamclock" for Early Cancer Detection" and will pit tech companies against one another in soapboxes of their own creation, and driven by their own CEO's!

The Canary Foundation (celver name) is devoted to the early detection of cancer becausee, well, less people die when you/they find it early. You can read the startling stats on the Canary Foundation site. Go have fun and donate some money to a great cause.
