I didn't get through the whole paper yesterday and as I was up before the kids this morning (don't ask) I was looking through my favourite sections of the paper. There at the back of the At Home section was a story about the 3000 square foot roof deck of False Creek resident Patra DeSilva.

Over the weekend the crane at the 61 story Shangri-la condo and hotel tower came down. Personally I am suprised how little an impact it has had on the city skyline. What do you think of it?

You probably heard about this already, but just in case you haven't I thought I'd better mention in. There is a lot of poo, err fecal coliform (learn more about fecal coliforms on wikipedia) in False Creek, especially at the east end of the creek.

Mountain Equipment Co-op is hosting Paddlefest this Sunday at Ambleside Park in West Vancouver. As a lifelong kayaker this event caught my eye.
